Throughout this 6 week course you will learn the main classic yoga postures (asanas) with a strong focus on alignment so that you will learn how to discover the benefits of classical yoga poses whilst building both strength and flexibility. On completion of the course you will have the experience, confidence and knowledge to attend any of The Life Centre's Yoga Level 1-2 classes.
Luisa draws her inspiration from daily self practice, and her students and teachers. She has a heartfelt desire to help students to safely open their bodies and their minds, so achieving a lighter and happier way of being.
This course is held in our Loft studio and limited to 14 participants.
Having been introduced to yoga on a beach in Bali while travelling
after college, Luisa has since explored various traditions, including vinyasa yoga, tai chi and vipassana meditation.
While working in Bangkok, she studied under Bihar school of yoga trained yogi Adrian Cox, learning relevant aspects of anatomy,
Sanskrit, yoga history and philosophy, chanting, pranayama (breathing techniques), asana (the physical poses), meditation and sequencing of poses.
On return to the UK, she went on to further her training with a series of amazing and inspirational teachers, including Mukunda Stiles, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Alexa Harris and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, and is now a British Wheel of Yoga Teacher.
What really excites Luisa about yoga is the incredibly transformative power of the
practice. Whether you are lacking in energy, flexibility, strength, focus or peace, yoga can offer so much to enrich your life.
